Let's Not Forget About Ourselves, a note to teachers and parents

As parents and/or educators often times we get so busy caring for our students and children that we forget about ourselves. I challenge you to be mindful of your mental health. If things become overwhelming for you, take a moment to yourself. Breathe.

Take a few moments and wake up early to get your mind focused on the day. Stay up a bit once the children are put to bed. A scheduled 10-15 minutes of quiet time and/or mindfulness before bed or first thing in the morning can make a big difference. If anxiety and stress become overwhelming please note the resources below:

  1. This is so true and much of what we all need to hear. Things CAN get overwhelming at times but acknowledging the things that you cannot control and facing the things you can is vital! Seeking the right relief is life changing and sometimes life saving. I’ve started back going for walks and exercising daily and it seems as though the more I do this, the more prepared and strengthened I feel for whatever lies ahead of me. Thank you for this reminder and the resources! I want to be well, in all ways ☺️

    1. Thank you for reading and commenting! I'm so glad the weather has been pleasant enough to offer us the opportunity to get out and enjoy it while practicing social distancing. Glad to be of service.

  2. I have begin to limit my time watching the news and being on social media as they can become draining. I know the news is a vital way of getting important information but, its not worth my peace of mind. I take a 1-2 walk/jog/run and I make a conscious effort to enjoy the atmosphere outside. Trust me it's worth it!

  3. Your grandmother is a wise woman. I also limit my exposure to social media and the news. However HGTV has become my new addiction! LOL
